About Zamzam
ZamZam is one of Iran's most established beverage brands, with industrial origins dating to the mid-1950s. Historical sources identify Habib Sabet as a central figure in the establishment of the original Tehran operation, which initially produced Pepsi-Cola under license.
Following the 1979 revolution, ZamZam became part of the business structure later associated with the Mostazafan Foundation and Sina Food Industries. During the 1980s, the company developed domestic beverage concentrates and progressively reduced reliance on imported formulations.
Over time, ZamZam expanded from its Tehran base into a nationwide manufacturing system. Major production operations are currently located in Tehran, Tabriz, Gorgan, Isfahan, Urmia, Mashhad, Shiraz, Kerman, Rasht, Kermanshah and Abadan. In 2025–2026, the group implemented a major restructuring program to integrate these operations more closely under Zamzam Iran.
The company's portfolio extends beyond traditional cola. Registered and currently promoted products include cola, orange and lemon soft drinks, flavored carbonated beverages, drinking and sparkling water, energy drinks and other beverage formats.
Exports form an important part of ZamZam's current strategy. Sina Food Industries states that the group exports to more than 30 countries across five continents, while more recent reports document shipments to Oman and other Gulf markets.
From Foodex Iran's perspective, ZamZam is significant not simply because of its brand longevity. Its history illustrates the evolution of Iran's beverage industry from licensed international production toward domestic formulation, nationwide manufacturing, vertically integrated supply capabilities and renewed regional export expansion.
